Description: The fire history dataset is a historical record of mapped bushfires that have occurred throughout Tasmania. It forms a critical input into the evaluation of bushfire risk and potential throughout the state. Analysis of past fires assists authorities during prevention, mitigation and suppression of bushfires. The fire history dataset is comprised of two feature classes: FIRE_HISTORY_ALL_FIRES and FIRE_HISTORY_LAST_IMPACTEDThe fire history records from individual agencies are appended each year into the FIRE_HISTORY_ALL_FIRES feature class. FIRE_HISTORY_ALL_FIRES is a cumulative history layer with overlapping areas where multiple fires have impacted a single region. The FIRE_HISTORY_LAST_IMPACTED feature class is derived from FIRE_HISTORY_ALL_FIRES and identifies the latest fire and historical statistics for each region. The FIRE_HISTORY_LAST_IMPACTED feature class does not contain any overlaps.
