A planning scheme has two parts: - text that sets out the requirements or standards for use and development, and - maps that show zones and overlays indicating where requirements or standards apply. The Tasmanian Planning Scheme General Overlays dataset is an online resource that maps each site-specific qualification, specific area plan, local area objective and defined area across the state. Each overlay provides provisions for dealing with land use issues on a particular site or area of land, as appropriate, and may spatially apply across a range of zones. This Historical layer is designed to provide a record of changes over time, by integrating current and former zones or overlays for areas where amendments have been applied.
